What do you do when your music breaks genre boundaries? You make up your own, and to be perfectly honest ZAND couldn’t have been more bang-on with their definition of what they do. Calling themselves ‘Ugly Pop’ they deliver a barrage of gritty, raw, noisy, industrial pop music but their tendency for uncomfortable (yet wholly necessary) and often shocking (to some people) lyrics with the kind of soulful delivery that would make Aretha jealous, makes their genre-moniker a perfect description of what they do. Exploding onto the scene in 2018 and holding a firm slot in RISE Room 2 since then ZAND are one to watch as they slay their way up the roster and into our cold black hearts! Perfect for weirdos, Underdogs, the misunderstood, etc.
